Upon the invitation of the Turkish Music Department of the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, Istanbul Technical University Turkish Music State Conservatory faculty member Assist. Prof. Dr. Seval EROGLU performed the Turkish Folk Music concert "Bir Demet Türkü" on October 4, 2022 at 12.15 in the Hasan Polatkan Hall of the Göztepe North Campus Ziraat Library.
The concert, which was open to the public, was attended by faculty members and students of the Turkish Music Department of our university.
In the concert, which featured many examples of our local art and intangible cultural heritage, performing melodies compiled from different regions such as Şanlıurfa, Mardin, Adıyaman, Elazığ, Erzurum, Kırşehir, Kars, Malatya, Kayseri, Sivas, Silifke, Black Sea and various asiks and local artists such as Aşık Veysel, Nesimi Çimen, Aşık Sümmani, Muharrem Ertaş, Neşet Ertaş. These melodies consisted of different forms such as ilahi, ibrahimi, ağıt, mahnı, derbeder and different maqam structures. Drawing attention to the musical diversity of Anatolia, Assist. Prof. Dr. Seval EROGLU gave the listeners a musical feast that took them around Anatolia.
