Students of Istanbul Civilization University, Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, Department of Turkish Music took the stage at the “Ney Recital” event held in our North Campus on March 11, 2025.
In the recital conducted by Prof. Dr. Ali Tan, Muhammed Emin Pala, Muhammed Emin Yurt, Nurbanu Önver and Ramazan Şimşek presented a repertoire of rare pieces of Turkish Music. The pieces performed in Hicaz, Bayati, Acemaşiran and Acem Kürdi modes provided the audience with an unforgettable musical feast.
The event, organized to promote Turkish Music, featured select examples reflecting elements of our local art and intangible cultural heritage from a wide range of composers, from Neyzen Emin Dede to Gavsi Baykara . The audience had the opportunity to experience the richness of our classical music once again with the unique tones of the ney instrument.
