The composition competition organized by Fatih Municipality in memory of İsmail Dede Efendi and Tanburi Cemil Bey, two legendary names of Turkish music, was concluded. Semih ÖZDEMİR, one of the lecturers of the Department of Turkish Music, was deemed worthy of an award in this prestigious competition by a jury consisting of prominent names in the field. Özdemir was awarded the third place among 305 works in the category of oral works announced in honor of Dede Efendi with his "murabba beste" in the makam of "Acemkürdi".
